Get answers to common questions about Paraffin for Hands.

This upgrade immerses hands in warm, mineral-based paraffin wax that seals in moisture. The heat opens pores and increases circulation, allowing moisturizers to penetrate deeply. After cooling, skin feels softer and joints often feel less stiff; results are immediate and cumulative with repeat treatments.

Generally safe, but clients with open wounds, infections, recent sunburn, or paraffin/mineral oil allergies should avoid it. We perform a brief consultation and patch check. Always disclose skin conditions or medications so technicians can recommend alternatives.

Most upgrades add 10–20 minutes to your pedicure or manicure appointment. This includes cleansing, wax dips, wrap time for absorption, and a moisturizing finish so hands feel soft, warm, and restored before you leave.

Many clients report temporary relief from stiffness and pain due to increased warmth and circulation. It can be a helpful complementary therapy, but it’s not a substitute for medical treatment. Consult your physician if you have severe arthritis or circulatory issues.

If polish is fully cured, brief paraffin exposure typically won’t damage it. For freshly applied polish we recommend waiting until it dries completely. Technicians can time the upgrade to avoid smudging or remove polish and reapply if needed.

Side effects are rare; minor redness or temporary sensitivity may occur if wax is too hot or skin is fragile. Avoid if you have open cuts, skin infections, or circulatory disorders. Our technicians control temperature and screen clients to minimize risk.
